The Election Commission assures the Delhi High Court of preserving video footage for the Rampur Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh regarding EVMs as per protocol. Lawyer Mehmood Pracha, a poll contestant from Rampur, filed a petition seeking this direction. The EC follows guidelines for CCTV coverage and affirms preservation for 45 days post-polling.
In a rally held in Barabanki on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that if the Congress and Samajwadi Party were to come into power, they would use bulldozers to destroy the Ram temple. He said that these parties should take lessons from Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on the proper utilization of bulldozers.
Talking about Mamata Banerjee's "outside support" to the INDIA alliance, Congress's Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said, "I don't trust her (Mamata). She left the alliance and ran away. S Jaishankar on Monday said that India has not received any information that is specific and worthy of investigation by its probe agencies regarding the fourth arrest made by Canada in connection with the killing of Khalistan separatist and designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. This comes following the arrest of Amardeep Singh, a 22-year-old resident of Brampton, Surrey, and Abbotsford areas in Canada on May 11.
